ForwardScan suits practically any vessel and frame type, with a treated steel through-structure mounting sleeve. The sleeve and a discretionary fairing square can oblige up to 29 mm (1.15 inch) thick structures at 12 degrees deadrise, or up to 19 mm (3/4 inch) thick frames at 20 degrees. An inherent self-shutting valve implies the ForwardScan transducer can be embedded and expelled from the sleeve while on the water, streamlining transducer establishment and upkeep. By pre-introducing the ForwardScan sleeve and fitting the included watertight blanking plug, boat developers can make another vessel ForwardScan-prepared and permit the transducer to be included later as a DIY water overhaul.
